Spancil Hill

Founded by Atlanta producer/engineer Rick Masters, Spancil Hill provides a fresh look and sound to the North Carolina entertainment landscape. The group, which is based on the Irish sibling band The Corrs, has a Celtic pop sound that easily sets it apart from other area bands.

Spancil Hill's sound ranges from traditional Irish folk and instrumental tunes to a variety of current pop and rock selections. Primarily a quartet, the lineup includes: Rick Masters on guitar, piano, percussion and vocals, Jamie Cambareri on lead vocals and tin whistles, Erin Prevo on piano, bodhran, percussion and vocals, and Elisa Bate on violin, viola, and vocals. For larger venues, the band includes session players Don Klayman on bass, and Martin Perry on drums.

Spancil Hill was formed in the fall of 2007 in Greensboro, NC. After playing churches and pubs for only six months, the word was out, and Spancil Hill was asked to be on the Triad’s #1 morning TV show, CBS’ Good Morning Greensboro, where they were interviewed and performed three songs live. The band has played to packed or sold out shows in High Point, Raleigh and Greensboro.

In March of 2008, Spancil Hill played for over 2,000 people at Cross Pointe in Atlanta, a performance that was filmed by CNN. In September of 2008, the band entered the studio to begin writing and recording their second CD, a collection of 10 original songs.  The band currently plays concerts, clubs,  worship services, conferences and corporate functions.

A telling tribute to the live shows of Spancil Hill is the fact that in their 1 ½ years of existence, the band has been asked back to every venue they have played.
